The Stowe Water Department will be systematically flushing the water mains by way of the fire hydrants on the Town Water System beginning on Monday May 6, 2024. This is a necessary process that will help ensure the overall quality of the water within our distribution system and verify fire hydrant functionality. We will start in the Village working our way up Mountain Road to the Houston Farm area. We will then start at Edson Hill Rd working our way up to the Spruce Peak area. This process will take several weeks to complete.

Discolored or cloudy water may be experienced due to the naturally occurring minerals and sediments that are disturbed by the flushing process. If this should happen, please let your cold water run for several minutes and this should help clear your water. Please note, we do not recommend laundering light/white colored clothing if your water is discolored.
